These terms apply when you place an order through the Concrete & Custard website. Please read them before ordering — placing an order means you accept them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. About us

Concrete & Custard is a small independent food business based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@concreteandcustard.co.uk or via our Facebook page.

2. Orders

  • Submitting an order through this website is an order request. A contract is only formed when we contact you to confirm your order, availability and a collection or delivery arrangement.
  • We bake in small batches, so occasionally an item may be unavailable. If so, we'll offer an alternative or not charge you for it.
  • All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£). We are not currently VAT registered.

3. Payment

No payment is taken through this website. We accept payment on collection or delivery (cash or card where available) or by bank transfer in advance. Your order may be released only once payment is received.

4. Collection & delivery

  • Collection times and locations are agreed with you after you order.
  • Local delivery is available within our delivery area; any delivery charge will be confirmed with you before your order is confirmed.
  • Please make sure someone is available to receive perishable goods — cakes and custard don't like waiting on doorsteps.

5. Cancellations & refunds

  • You may cancel or change an order free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed collection/delivery time.
  • Because our products are perishable and made to order, the usual 14-day online cancellation right does not apply to them (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, reg. 28).
  • If something arrives damaged or isn't right, contact us within 24 hours with a photo and we will put it right with a replacement or refund. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected.

6. Allergens & food safety

  • Full allergen information is on our Allergens page and on each product page. All products are made in a kitchen that handles gluten, milk, eggs, soya and nuts — we cannot guarantee any product is free from traces.
  • Please tell us about any allergies in the order notes and double-check with us before consuming.
  • Products are best enjoyed on the day. Storage instructions are provided with your order; please follow them.

7. Our liability

We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or our negligence. We are not liable for events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Website content

Product images are illustrations — your actual cake will be even better looking (we think). All content on this site belongs to Concrete & Custard and may not be copied for commercial use without permission.

9. General

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
